Atlanta Weekend Recap

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's been such a good week so far, and this weekend will be even better! It's Homecoming at my Alma Mater and I'm attending as an Alumna for the first time this year! How exciting?!

Last weekend, my sweet Mom and I met in Atlanta for a late birthday celebration.  It was so good to see her and spend some time together! She lives back home in North Augusta, so meeting in the middle was the perfect spot.  We stayed just North of Atlanta in Dunwoody. They have a great mall there and tons of little restaurants to choose from.

Here is a quick little recap of everything we did and some of the places we ate!

First things first, we went to Cheesecake Factory. We ordered Chicken Marsala and it was honestly the best I've ever had! I highly recommend trying it. We ordered the Hazelnut Crunch cheesecake to go and ate it back at the hotel in our pajamas. Seriously best decision!

Saturday morning, we brunched at First Watch.  Mom had never been! We ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich and the Banana Nut Crunch Pancake to split.  We loooovveddd it! The pancake was HUGE and had all kinds of granola in it.  So yummy!

Next up, the mall! We headed to the Perimeter Mall and shopped all afternoon.

We absolutely LOVED this Altar'd State! If you've never shopped there before, they're a faith based boutique with the most beautiful clothes and home decor! We ended up each getting a set of rings.  They were so gorgeous, we couldn't pass them up!

This was my set! My favorite one is the white marble stone.  I've worn it twice since I got it! Each ring is a different size, meant for different fingers.  I love mixing and matching them! Here's the set I got, and here's the set my mom got.

Here are some of the other pieces I picked up.  The two shirts and the earrings are from H&M.  The cute suede hat is from Forever21!

This white sweater is so cozy and oversized.  I got the statement earrings to pair it with, and I plan on wearing this with my black leggings and over-the-knee boots! I recommend sizing down when ordering the sweater. Sadly, the earrings are only sold in-store, but here are some similar ones for $5!

This pink blouse is SO cute.  Like I've said before, if it has ruffles, you know I have to have it! I loved how the sleeves weren't stiff at all, and I'll totally wear this to work or an event.  The top is sold out in pink, but I linked the blue and white one above. The earrings are also only sold in-store, but here are some similar ones for less than $5!

After we finished up at the mall, we headed back to the hotel and rested for a couple hours.  It was POURING rain, so we ran through the McDonald's drive thru and got a drink, then headed back to the room until we were ready for dinner.

For dinner, we went to Huey Luey's.  They're a local Tex-Mex chain there in Atlanta.  Mom and I both ordered tacos (shocker, right?).  From left to right--> Cajun Shrimp taco with spicy mayo and mango salsa, Pork Al Pastor with grilled pineapple, and Chargrilled chicken with signature onions and cilantro.  YALL.  Our service was horrible, but these tacos were out. of. this. world!

The hat I'm wearing is the one I got at Forever21 earlier in the day.  My sweater is from H&M and I got it a couple weeks ago.  I think I've worn it 3 times already! Soooo cozy!

Sunday morning, we slept in and grabbed coffee at the hotel.  We decided to brunch at a cute little cafe called "Another Broken Egg".  This place was packed! We probably waited almost an hour to be seated, and it was totally worth it.

Before going, I signed up for their email list on their website and they sent me a coupon for a free order of their famous Biscuit Beignets.  OH MY GOSH, you guys, these were incredible. They came with a lemon zest + honey dipping sauce that was super weird, but suuuuper good.  We loved these!

We decided to order Eggs Benedict.  These were super cool because they came on English muffins, with a slice of grilled tomato on the bottom. It was the perfect size to split!

We also got their "City Grits" that had bacon, chives, tomato, and cheese mixed in.  We ate until we were stuffed!! Seriously, so delicious!

After brunch, we ran to Ross and TJ Maxx for some last minute shopping before hitting the road.  I got a super cute pair of black goucho trousers and a simple navy dress with some velvet detailing on the collar.  I'll link some similar ones here! --> Trousers + Dress

And that was pretty much our whole weekend getaway! We had such a great time and we're already thinking about making it a yearly tradition.

Stay tuned later this week for my October Faves to go live!
