A Look Back on 2017

Happy New Year, friends!! What an incredible year it's been! I accomplished so many goals this year, and I have absolutely loved getting to go back and look at it all.  God is so good!

I'm not typically one to write out New Year's Resolutions, but I do like to look back at the year behind me in order to truly focus on the year that's ahead.  So, I'll spare you the long, written out blog post of all my personal goals and resolutions.  Instead! If you're a visual person, like me, I've included my favorite memories from each month of 2017 as a "slideshow" of sorts.

Keep scrolling to see my most favorite memories of 2017.

Winter Retreat in Gatlinburg, TN

Winter Retreat in Gatlinburg, TN (it was sooo cold!) Every year, we rent out the coolest cabin and spend a weekend in the mountains.  We did the alpine coaster and went go-karting, and spent each night playing cards and hanging out in the cabin.  Some of my favorite memories of college are from these retreats!

This was just a typical day, to be honest.  But this was also the day that our Student Government Exec team took our pictures for the yearbook.  I got to work with this team all year long, so much that we truly became a family! (photo creds to Uy Nguyen)

We also celebrated 2 of my favorite birthdays in February! My brother, Blake, turned 19 and one of my best friends, Kelly, turned 21! Blake also started leading a worship service called Sanctuary in February and the picture on the left is us at the first service he helped lead.

Friday Night Live is tradition at Trevecca.  It's the one night of the year that we can come together and be silly, make fun of our school a little bit, and perform our version of SNL! It's one of the most stressul, fun, and hilarious memories I have of college! (photo creds to Johnny Wright and Trevecca Marketing)

I also went to Monterrey, Mexico in March! This was my first missions trip ever, and I absolutely fell in love with that country.  We worked in a local children's home, met tons of families in Monterrey, and left with our hearts overflowing.  If any of you are interested, you can research Back2Back Ministries and the impact they're making all over the world! (photo creds to Kelly Hall)

Our final SGA meeting of the year! This was an emotional and sentimental night to say the least! As I gave my final speech of the year, I was completely overcome with emotion and gratitude for that group! My senior year was the best year thanks to this team! (photo creds to Uy Nguyen)

Girrrllll, you know I had to include Junior Senior Banquet for this month! This year, the banquet was at the Nashville Zoo! How fun, right?! (photo creds to TNU Marketing)

I graduated college! WHAATTT?! I'm still not sure how this happened so fast! May was a whirlwind of excitement - I graduated, accepted a full time job in Nashville, and moved into my first house with two of the world's best roomies.  Oh, did I mention all of that was in the first WEEK of May? Oh yes.  Let me just say, God! is! good! (first two photo creds to TNU Marketing)

June was the month of adventures! My best friend, Samantha, and I went hiking at Cummins Falls and had the most fun! I'm not typically one who loves hiking, but this was the best day.

June was also the month of jumping on the hockey bandwagon and cheering on the Nashville Predators as they competed for the Stanley Cup! A bunch of us went downtown and watched on the big screen.  Talk about a crazy experience - sitting in the middle of Broadway in camping chairs with thousands of other hockey fans.  Definitely something I'll never forget!

Ohhhh, July.  This was the best month.  My family and I went on a cruise for the first time! I am already trying to find a way to go on another! It was the coolest experience.  We traveled to Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Saint Martin.  The best vacation!

Two of my very best friends got married on July 29th! Brent and I have been friends since middle school, and Lauren and I met in college! Lauren was kind enough to let me do her make up for the wedding, too.  The entire day was so beautiful and special! (right photo cred to Johnny Wright)

August FLEW by! I met Kelly, one of my best friends from high school, in Chatanooga for a quick girls' weekend! We hiked (sort of), ate sooo much good food, and stayed in the cutest AirBnb!  We can't wait to go again!

September was a month of spontaneity! A bunch of us decided to buy season passes to Six Flags over Georgia and took a road trip! We had the best day!

September is also my birth month! I turned twenty-two this year, and celebrated by eating the best burger in town with all my closest buds. The best night!

October was the month of concerts! My brother surprised me with NeedtoBreathe tickets, and, the very same week, we saw Katy Perry! Both shows were AMAZING.

The first weekend in November is TNU Homecoming!  It was the coolest thing to experience it this year as an alumna. I love love love my Alma Mater!

I can't forget about Thanksgiving, of course.  This year, we hosted our very first Friendsgiving at our house! We made chili, played games, and had the best night in with all our closest friends.  My family also came up from South Carolina and we had Thanksgiving at my Aunt Julie's house. I love having everyone together for the holidays!

We carried on our tradition of "Friendsmas" this year with matching PJ's, watching Christmas movies, and breakfast the next morning! I love doing life with these girls.

I celebrated Christmas back home in North Augusta this year! It was great to be home after so many months away.  We ate Christmas Eve chili, opened gifts, played games, and enjoyed time at home together.

There are so many other memories I have of this year that I would have loved to include! Before this post gets any longer, I want to say thank you to all of you who encouraged me to start this blog and have continued encouraging me along the way! I am so looking forward to blogging all of 2018.

Here's to a New Year with all new adventures.
